One of the most nerve wracking parts about booking a boudoir session is “What the heck do I wear?”
I’ve yet to have a client NOT ask me what to wear – we’re women I totally get it. And boudoir is a big decision for many women. It’s something you’ve spent a lot of time thinking about and planning.
So I wanted to share some insight on things you can wear to look and feel your best! And there’s no need to go spend hundreds on new lingerie (unless you want to girl, treat yo self!) and you can find awesome deals from online stores like Amazon, Target, and Torrid for my curvy babes! Torrid has legit stuff whether you’re a size 10 or a size 30 so check them out!
I usually suggest choosing your vibe – simple, comfortable or sexy. Or a healthy mix of all three! Depending on your session choice and how much time we have, we can usually get a few awesome shots in your favorite things.
So let me break down my favorite vibes and help point you to some helpful places to find outfits for any style, but that won’t break the bank!
Simple vibes are very Y O U! You don’t have to get too dresses up or feel extra fancy (unless of course you want to) You can do your own hair and makeup, or let me know and I’ll have one of my gals come into the studio to get you all dolled up. For outfits on the simpler side, I suggest a lace bralette like this, or a matching bra and panty set. Check out an oversized flannel like this, or steal one of your hubby’s favorite shirts. Got a favorite pair of ripped jeans? Bring those; or check out this pair!
Comfy vibes mesh well with simple vibes, because you’re still not straying too far from your comfort zone. Even if you choose to dive into sexier choices, we always start with comfy or simple to get you feeling it before jumping in! This sweater is a favorite of mine, and I actually have the brown color in the studio closet you can use. Or check out this “branded” vibe matched set from Torrid!
Embrace your sexuality ladies, because you are beautiful! This is usually the outfit(s) we’ll tackle last, because by the end of your session, you’ve gone from nervous to on top of the freakin world! It’s such a beautiful journey for every woman, and your confidence is radiant. I don’t currently keep any body suits or tight fitting lingerie in my studio closet for sanitary reasons, but check out some affordable options like this lace bodysuit from Amazon! Want to step up your game. Grab a sexy corset like this.
