Shane and Taylor were married on May 11, 2019 at Fox Creek Ranch in Hollister, California. Fox Creek Ranch is the perfect wedding venue for a country wedding!
This rustic, country wedding venue was the perfect location for these two to tie the knot! Fun fact: Shane and I grew up together and our parents are good friends. We even went to the same high school. So being asked to photograph his and Taylor’s wedding was such an honor. I really do enjoy being able to capture memories for friends! I wish you both so much happiness.
Even the details of this wedding were perfectly rustic and country! Taylor had her turquoise bracelet and necklace custom made by a local vendor. It was the perfect touch to compliment her Ariat boots as a “something blue”
And Taylor’s hubby bought her the perfect pair of diamond earrings to wear down the aisle. So sweet!!!
Also, is it just me or do black and white photos really get you to feel the emotions of these fleeting getting ready photos.
Taylor’s gift to Shane was a Little Black Book from one of my Boudoir Collections. It is honestly so fun to be able to capture so many moments for my couples, from fun engagement sessions, intimate boudoir sessions and the joys of wedding days! Shane’s reaction to this gift was absolutely priceless.
Fox Creek Ranch had a day of coordinator that did a fantastic job with styling the venue for this gorgeous wedding. These rustic, country wedding details were so dreamy!
And how cute is this fun version of a guest book! One of Shane’s high school friends custom made this cornhole board for the newlyweds! Now it’s time for the first look – aka one of my favorite parts of the wedding day!
I love everything about the colors of this bridal party, the location, the smiles…and I also love how chill everyone was. I mean we’re in a pasture and there was cow piles. Rustic weddings are the best!
Even though Shane and Taylor shared a first look, he still got emotional as she walked down the aisle. This is actually something I hear a lot from couples who are leaning against a first look, because they want to have that emotional reaction. One thing I suggest is for the bride to refrain from wearing her veil for the first look. This way, she has something different and a bit more “bridal” if you will, when she walks down the aisle.
If you didn’t have a cattle drive in the middle of your ceremony, did you even get married? Fox Creek Ranch weddings does it right y’all!
And now…it’s party time!
So yes, first looks are one of my favs, but sunset photos are my other! I really loved how detailed this wedding venue was with the rustic, western vibes. This first building pictured below was the Saloon, but it was also actually the Saloon where guests could “wet their whistle” so to speak!
Congratulations Mr. + Mrs. Cates! You guys are literally amazing and it was an honor to be your wedding photographer for your perfect, country wedding. I cannot wait to see how you two grow and blossom in your lives together. Thank you for being not only sweet clients, but truly wonderful friends.
