Murat and Brianna were married on September 14, 2019 at Casa de Alvarez, an outdoor wedding venue in Arroyo Grande, California. Their wedding was a more intimate affair. Close family and friends surrounded them with love and light on a perfect day!
Brianna’s blush velvet shoes from Lulus were the perfect compliment to the coral, pink, purple and vibrant colors that decorated their wedding tables. I loved photographing a wedding filled so many beautiful colors!

Side note – every weddings needs donuts, and these babies from SloDoCo brought back all the college feels for me. My girlfriends and I used to have study dates at this donut shop near campus, and we definitely ate our share of some bomb donuts too! One of my favs was the maple bar with bacon! YUM!
The story of their love is beautiful and incredible, so it only makes sense to let their own words do the talking. I saved this little blip from their wedding website, because it was one of the most beautiful stories I had ever heard.
It all began when we reached a point in our life’s journey where we loved ourselves, truly and deeply, more than we ever had. When this self-love settled in and began to bloom, we knew we were ready to share ourselves and our journey through this life with someone by our side. We didn’t know when (or if) we would ever find what we were looking for, but as you know by now, we most definitely did.
Little did we know, how cataclysmic that joining of our souls would be. An explosion of blissful light into the farthest depths of the universe is how it might be described. At the entrance to a music festival is where it unfolded. An eagle, a bald one, to be exact caught both our eyes. As you may know, these birds are rarely seen in Central California so we were soaking in the site as the sun came up over the hills. No one else from our group seemed to be as captivated as we were, which we now know, was the universe allowing us to have our moment. It could only be that way.
The story continues
Our shared awe of this creature is what brought our orbits colliding together. Standing in appreciation of this majestic animal at the gates of Lightning in a Bottle is where we fell in love – instantaneously and without ever looking back. We knew in that moment, that our souls had known and loved each other for eons and that they would continue to know and love each other for eons more.
Since physically meeting, our souls have yet to stop dancing, playing, exploring, laughing, crying, loving, and growing together. They always will….
Finding sweet ways to remember those who can’t share your wedding day with you is such a beautiful memory. This table dedicated to the grooms father was so beautiful, and also paid a tribute to his heritage.
The way these two newlyweds looked at each other is enough to warm any heart and make everyone believe in love! We can’t wait to be back for another Arroyo Grande Wedding!
Thank you to Murat and Brianna for trusting Megan Helm Photography with such a special day! We loved every minute of it! We look forward to more memories as your love and life continue to grow and bloom!
