These family photos for the Wilkinson’s marked a chapter in their lives they were all about to embark on. Cassy was diagnosed with cervical cancer earlier this year. She’s been such an amazing addition to MHP, and I was completely shocked when she told me. But then I saw the bravery and determination in her eyes. She will beat this, and with her family by her side, she’s going to kick cancer’s ass!

We knew that capturing real life was going to be so important for them during this family session. And the boys didn’t disappoint! Life of little ones can be crazy, and these photos captured just that!!

These photos also captured the sweet love between Cassy & Matt; their love for each other and their boys is such an inspiration. I love capturing photos of just the parents during family photos, too!

I love the radiant joy on their faces! And the funny thing about this photo is the boys were running around like crazy down by their feet! Family photos can be so much fun.

I loved getting the opportunity to shoot both film and digital during this session. Cassy specifically asked me to shoot film for their family photos, because the look of film just has this magic that digital photography can’t emulate. It was so much fun and a great learning experience to shoot some family photos on film. This blog showcased both film and digital photos, and seriously the black and white film makes our hearts so happy! The film grain is so magical!!
