This shoot was inspired by my own Winter, Christmas Wedding which happened in December of 2017.
It’s important to me for any shoot, but especially when creating a styled shoot for inspiration, that the images and the vibe of the shoot feels authentic; like something a real couple could dream up for their own event.
R&C Ranch is a beautiful, modern white barn wedding venue in Fresno, California. I wanted this shoot to incorporate the unique aspects of this venue such as their wrought iron chandeliers and light fixtures throughout the barn.
Little did I know when my models volunteered, not only do they LOVE Christmas, but this was a chance for them to take the wedding photos they never had!
Mimi and the team from Apropos for Flowers did a fantastic job of creating the perfect Christmasy floral arrangements, with white florals and pops of red and gold to tie into the White Christmas theme.
Stockroom Picks and their amazing rentals brought home the modern, but rustic vibes of this venue. The classic glassware and modern serveware were the perfect compliments to this simple and elegant Christmas wedding color palette.
The invitations were designed to be minimal to tie into the classic white barn, but the holiday detailing inside the envelopes tied in with the White Christmas vibes.
I also love allowing the vendors to get creative, because for collaborations, we’re all in this together. As creatives, we do our best work when the inspiration behind the shoot is something we’re excited about; but who doesn’t love Christmas!
It was so much fun to photograph a White Christmas wedding as my husband and I celebrate our second anniversary today, December 16, 2019. I loved working with this group of vendors, and creating a beautiful shoot inspired by the most wonderful time of the year (so cheesy right – but so true!)
